Caitlin Ishigooka Caitlin Ishigooka

Caitlin Ishigooka is a 2005 graduate of UCLA where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English with a Minor in Political Science. Throughout college she volunteered at numerous organizations including Jackie Robinson Academy in Long Beach, Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross.

A year after graduating from UCLA, Ms. Ishigooka became part of the first group of Peace Corps Volunteers to Cambodia. For two years she lived with a host-family in Takeo, Cambodia where she taught English, job and leadership skills to high school students. During her second year of service, she wrote, raised funds for and implemented a Peace Corps Partnership grant to create a community library and resource center for the village of Kiri Vong and the students of Ton Leap High School.

Ms. Ishigooka returned from Cambodia in April of 2009 and is currently a candidate for a Master of Public Administration at USC where she is focusing on nonprofit administration and community development. She is looking forward to working with Hearts Without Boundaries where she can not only apply the skills that she is learning in class, but most importantly reconnect and help the people of a culture that she now feels very close to.
